The most dangerous players are Deadeye Putters. When one can pour it from all green, they are never out of a hole. And when a brilliant putter gets it around, the cup looks like it is the size of a basketball pin.

We’ve all seen it happen in Pro Golf, and likely in your weekend money games, too. There is no forecast when one day that happens – you just have to hope and beg to be on the right side.

They all have their philosophy when it comes to setting, but one thing that all brilliant putters have in common is that they nail their composition. Having solid bases before pulling the trigger is essential if you want to decide with any kind of consistency.

Top 100 Golf teacher Dave Phillips has learned a small part of the tournament and looked at hundreds more. Although he has seen many different placement philosophies, there is a certain composition of the composition that he says everyone uses.

What excellent placers share shared

When excellent placers are preparing for their turn, they always receive information that informs how the putt will roll. Once they are read, they keep their eyes on the intermediate target, they want their ball to roll.

“What they do is after they have chosen their country and read their line, they go into the putt, aim for confusion in their place, and then continue to look at that entry point while (they) get (their attitude),” says Phillips. “This is a great way to let your body put your eyes on what they see.”

Many amateurs make the mistake of entering a attitude and configuration that is square and never changes.

“They look up and don’t like what they see,” says Phillips. “And then instead of fixing their body, they simply adjust their face or move their body, and this leads to unstable placement.”

Phillips says he watches large moving and adjusting their attitude immediately until they hit the putt. And this is because they are responding to what they say to their eyes.

“They will remove it and line up,” he says. “And then they will become calm. Finally take a check, take a more look and confirm that it is where they want to be and then they just go forward and hit the blow.”
